ABOUT LAMBORGHINI
Self-made entrepreneur Ferruccio Lamborghini made his fortune manufacturing tractors made from army surplus by the Allied forces in 1945. Lamborghini's dream car was intended to be a direct counter to Ferrari's race-prepped, track-ready models. Lamborghini wanted a higher level of sophistication and to stand up to Ferrari. Its first car to roll off the production line was the 350 GTV of 1963, and with both the car and agricultural businesses thriving, Ferruccio allowed his engineers to design and build a new car - the legendary Miura, arguably the world's first supercar. After decades of financial uncertainty and changing owners, the company is now part of the Volkswagen empire and has enjoyed considerable success over the past 15 years. In 2013, Lamborghini celebrates its 50th anniversary and the development of the first SSUV with the Lamborghini Urus.
